A week after a private security officer was murdered at an apartment complex, St. Petersburg City Councilman Steve Kornell is calling for additional safety measures for security officers.

I want to make clear that I am only for extensive survalence technology to be used for a limited amount of time, perhaps one month, in specific areas and then the equipment would be moved to a new ‘hotspot’ With that said we need to use technology and metrics to address our crime problems.
